Chesapeake Utilities Corporation enjoys a long and prosperous history. The Dover Gas Light Company, formed in 1859, would eventually become Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, even though the company wasn’t officially incorporated in the State of Delaware until 88 years later in 1947. Today, the company  consists of four primary business segments: natural gas distribution, transmission and marketing; propane distribution and wholesale marketing; advanced information systems; and other services.
